Turkish timesheet (puantaj) template: ready Excel sheet

A puantaj cetveli is the monthly grid showing each employee's worked days, leave, sick days and overtime, day by day. Turkish employers must document working time with suitable means (Labor Law Art. 63, Working Time Regulation Art. 9), and the timesheet is what backs both that duty and the monthly SGK premium-day filings (Law No. 5510, Art. 86). The Excel template ships with a 31-day grid and a code legend.

Why the timesheet is mandatory

The documentation duty is statutory: to police the 45-hour week (Labor Law Art. 63), the employer must document employees' working time with suitable means (Working Time Regulation, Art. 9). Overtime's 50% premium and its 270-hour annual cap (Art. 41) can likewise only be tracked from daily records.

On the SGK side, monthly premium days and missing-day reasons are reported through the Art. 86 filings, and workplace records must be kept for ten years from the start of the year following the one they concern (Law No. 5510, Art. 86). The timesheet is also the record that produces the day-count input of the payslip — payroll and puantaj must agree.

How to use the template

Sheet one is the monthly grid: one row per employee, columns 1–31 for the days. Cells take the codes from sheet two (N worked, HT weekly rest, Yİ annual leave, R sick, Üİ unpaid leave, GT public holiday). Overtime hours go in their own column. At month end, the totals columns collect worked days, leave and sick days, and the premium-day count reported to SGK. One example row comes pre-filled.

From timesheet to payroll

The totals columns are payroll inputs: the premium-day count feeds the SGK filing, overtime hours feed the 50% premium (Art. 41), unpaid-leave days feed the missing-day report. The classic manual-timesheet failure is leave and sick days drifting against the payroll period, and generating the timesheet from attendance-device (PDKS) data closes that gap.

Frequently asked

Yes. The employer must document employees' working time with suitable means (Working Time Regulation, Art. 9), and the timesheet is the standard form of that documentation. In a working-time dispute, an employer without records has surrendered its strongest evidence against overtime claims.

No code set is prescribed by law, so the workplace picks a consistent one and applies it every month. The template's legend follows common practice: N worked, HT weekly rest, GT public holiday, Yİ annual leave, Üİ unpaid leave, R sick, D absence — with overtime hours kept in a separate column.

For SGK purposes, workplace records and documents are kept for ten years from the start of the year following the one they relate to (Law No. 5510, Art. 86). Timesheets also belong to the personnel file (Labor Law Art. 75) and can be demanded as evidence years later in working-time disputes.

PDKS is the attendance-control system holding raw clock-in/clock-out records, while the puantaj is the monthly summary produced from it — days worked, on leave, sick, and overtime hours per person. PDKS feeds the timesheet, the timesheet feeds payroll, and the three must reconcile.
