How this is calculated
Normal gross hourly pay is monthly gross divided by the normal monthly-hours divisor used in payroll. A divisor of 225 is only the common 45-hour-week assumption. Forcing it onto a shorter contractual week can understate the hourly rate, so the field is editable.
Under Article 41 of Labor Law No. 4857, every hour above 45 in a week is paid at a 50% premium, or 1.5 times normal hourly pay. Where the contractual week is shorter than 45 hours, hours between that contract and 45 are paid at a 25% premium, or 1.25 times normal hourly pay.
The regulation treats a work instance shorter than 30 minutes as 30 minutes and one longer than 30 minutes as one hour. This tool cannot reconstruct individual instances from a monthly aggregate, so it does not round automatically. Enter the total after record-by-record rounding.
Statutory overtime may not exceed 270 hours per year and requires employee approval. Compensatory free time is possible. Work on weekly rest days and national or public holidays is a separate payroll category and is intentionally outside this calculator.
